Carousel

We’ll take a ride on a pink carousel
Toss a few coins in the old wishing well
Race paper boats by the pier
Cause its that time of year
You’ll fix the flat on my old tandem bike
Then attach string to my blue paper kite
I’ll pack a picnic for two
Sunny sunday with you
We’ll catch a train down to Mulberry Heights
Sit on a park bench and watch fireflies
Crickets familiar spring tune
Underneath the pale moon
Under the big top the trapeze girls fly
Elephants dance while the happy clowns cry
Men juggle pins on a wire
All these sights but it’s you I admire

Take A Chance
03:52
|
|||
Toe up to the line
Got my guard down my arms stretched wide
There’s no one here but you and I
And the water’s edge reaching to the sky
So take a fall, take a leap
Take a dive
Take a risk we might not survive
So take a chance on me
There’s nothing left to say now dear
All our fumbled stuttered words get in the way
I’ll take my heart from it’s gilded cage
And hold it out for you to keep or break
You can question if I’m worth it
But count the cost before you go
But know that I will never leave you
Treading water all alone
I’ll lay right here on the green green grass
And ask if you’ll lie next to me
So take my hand into yours now dear
And ask yourself if your soul agrees

While away the hours with me
Tell me all the dreams you dream
Fly me under stars and over moon
Lead me in the perfect dance
With suited bears and elephants
Spin me round and ‘cross the floor we’ll glide
I’ll be fine ’til then
Dreaming of where and when
Passport in hand
You’ll fly me off to foreign lands
Paint a portrait of your smile
To keep me company for a little while
But don’t keep me waiting too long my love
Hear the birdsong of my cuckoo clock
Alone with my loneliness I wait for your knock
My suitcase is packed and waits by the door
I’ll see you in my dreams
On trains with faraway scenes
Till then I’ll be fine
All curled up with you in my mind

Blue Eyes

Blue, blue eyes
And a smile that could take me down
You’ll pay the price
For every time my hearts been tossed around
And you call me by a brand new name
And you tell me I’m not to blame
And these sweet lovely things you say
Oh you say
So undeserved
Words like a sweet redemption song
And this kiss so unreserved
With it’s touch it rights all my wrongs
Like a thief you stole my heart
And you set my mind at ease
And you lie, you lie down with me
Here in your arms I find reprieve
